The Czech Foreign Ministry hosted a workshop on the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina that took place under the auspices of Minister Karel Schwarzenberg on 13th November 2007. Veronika Bílková, Ph.D., E.MA from the Institute of International Affairs focused on the legal aspects of the ICJ´s ruling in the case of Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Serbia where Serbia had been taken to court by Bosnia and Herzegovina for the crime of genocide. The genocide charge was finally acknowledged only in the individual case of Srebrenica. This does not however suggest that there was no other horrific crime committed, only it does not meet the definition of genocide. Matyáš Zrno from OI recalled the particular fate of Srebrenica in his historical and military lecture. Filip Tesař from the Institute of International Affairs commented on the interethnic relations in Bosnia and Dragan Štalvjanin from RFE/RL talked about the current constitutional crisis in BiH.
Over thirty participants including attachés, army officers and students attended the workshop.
