230th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence remains not only a symbol of free society but a model expression of such a society’s basic tenets. The aim of this conference was to highlight the perennial principles of the American Founding and indicate their relevance for the promotion of justice and freedom in every time and place. After more than two centuries, the continued value of this document invites us to look more closely at the philosophy of natural rights and natural law.
